Witch hunt in Silicon Valley?

Is the hunt for options abusers going too far? The breadth of the SEC's probe has surprised more than a few people and we're starting to hear whispers that perhaps the prosecutors are going overboard. Some are even using the term "Witch Hunt". That said, few are willing go public with such a sentiment. An exception to this is Daniel Warmenhoven, CEO of Network Appliance. He spoke to Business Week largely because his company has undertaken a comprehensive and successful review of its books. There are many that will praise him for this. I doubt that the prosecutors will be dissuaded in any way, however.
