What to do with the spam filter?

Chances are, your email filters out spam fairly aggressively. You've probably been frustrated at some point by the loss of a legitimate mail to the filter. You may have cursed the email administrators, but you probably recognized such losses as a necessary evil in the war on spam. But there can be some legal ramifications. CFO.com takes a look at CFO internal communications policies in an era where lots of rules require archiving. It suggest that email systems ought to be set to track, record and file even what goes into the spam folder. Wow! The idea of archiving all spam certainly sounds onerous. As an alternative, a "policy that states the CFO's assistant must regularly read through the spam folder, would go a long way to putting the missed email into the proper context and thereby reduce" any suspicion as to why a CFO did not respond.
