Time to automate expense management?

At many companies, employee business expenses--of which travel and entertainment are a big chunk--are the second largest expenses, according to commentary in the APJournal Online. That raises an obvious question about automation. Of course, employees fudging expenses is a grand old tradition. In the Sarbox era, getting a tight grip on such activity becomes even more important. This is a classic case of weighing the benefits of automation, the record-keeping compliance advantages, and the like against the costs of sticking with spreadsheets. It may not be a slam dunk case, but from a Sarbox point of view, your vendor will have to address how well it can fit with your other systems. Still, perhaps it's something to think about. Article
