Time to guard against fired employees?
According to Cloakware, about one in eight employees who are laid off can still access their companies' computer network. Not surprisingly, telecommuting employees play a big role in such risk. One issue is that remote access often is not owned by a single entity within a company. It would seem like a simple thing to simply change or delete the password of telecommuters who leave a company, but someone has to think about it and then come up with a solution. Unfortunately, workers who have been laid off--and we're obviously seeing more of this as the recession rolls on--are perhaps the people most likely to want to do harm to a network. So this is one of those things that is easily remedied, as long as someone thinks about it. Article
