Sarbox driving a "back to basics"IT approach?

A new TechTargets survey has found something interesting about the upcoming year. Corporate IT will return to basics, veering around the newfangled stuff (like Web 2.0) for at least a year. Once again IT staffs are most interested in upgrading the infrastructure so it can "better serve as the backbone not only of corporate computing but also of corporate business processes." And what's driving this? "A perfect storm of factors--a combination of maxed-out data center facilities, corporate demands for disaster proofing, compliance requirements and overloaded IT staffs," according to SearchDataCenter.com. Better blocking and tackling is a must to handle all the archiving and other needs. Data center expansion is at the top of most to-do lists.
