Much riding on Sarbox whistleblower case

Recall that David Welch filed a complaint under Sarbanes Oxley after he was terminated from Cardinal Bankshares in 2002. Since then, his case been widely watched. The latest is that he is trying to compel the courts to enforce a Department of Labor ruling that Cardinal reinstate him as CFO. The government is apparently concerned that future efforts to protect Sarbox whistle-blowers will be compromised. OSHA says it has received 790 Sarbox whistleblower complaints since its the law was passed.
