Morgan Stanley whistleblower's complaint struck down

The Department of Labor has ended a high-publicity whistleblower complaint filed by a former Morgan Stanley executive who helped manage email policies at the the broker dealer. OSHA found "no reasonable cause to believe that (Morgan Stanley) violated Sarbanes-Oxley." Recall that Morgan Stanley fired Arthur Riel in September for inappropriately reading emails. That was four months after a jury ordered the firm to pay $1.57 billion in a dispute with Ronald Perelman. Riel charged he was fired for unmasking improper business practices that included the destruction of emails pertinent to the Perelman case. OSHA found that Morgan Stanley had grounds to fire him.
