Is it time to encrypt every laptop?

You are, by now, well aware of the many security breaches that have cost companies so dearly in PR capital. But what is the best way to guard against private information, especially about customers, from being stolen or lost? Most would agree that laptops are a good place to start. Some companies, such as Timken, are increasingly choosing to encrypt every hard drive on every laptop, according to SearchSecurity.com. Sounds expensive. Another solution could be to identify all hard drives that are high risk and encrypt them. Yet another might be to switch to a server based software service model and keep no sensitive information on any remote device. In any case, you've got a lot to think about.
