Gartner's magic quadrant for GRC vendors

Lots of research firms put out lists of companies to watch, but none lead to PR activity quite like a Gartner Magic Quadrant. We're seeing just about all companies positioned well in the grid issuing press releases noting the recognition.

The big winners were those placed in the upper right: "Leaders." These include OpenPages, Bwise, Thomson Reuters, Oracle and MetricStream. "Visionaries" include: Archer Technologies, Cura Software Solutions, Protiviti and Mega also fared well. Aline, Axentis and IDS Sheer were judged "Niche players." Methodware was tapped as a "Challenger."

The "Leaders" were judged to have "proven GRC functionality in all four primary GRC management (GRCM) functions--audit management, compliance management, risk management and policy management--and they have executed across several industries with support for multiple professional roles."

What I'd like to see is an analysis of how mentions in these reports leads to higher sales. Any correlation? Many firms invest in this aspect of their marketing.
