Does your company have enough storage expertise?

We've noted before that the storage demands of companies have gone through the roof, driven in large part by Sarbanes-Oxley concerns. To be safe, most companies have made a decision to store just about everything. The surge in storage demand carries with it a need for expertise, and it appears that there is shortage of qualified storage staff. Understanding, manipulating and organizing the data is all going to be very important, especially if audits or other board-level reviews necessitate a complex report in a short amount of time. If it takes months to generate the required cut of data, everyone looks bad, whether in finance or IT. So it would make sense now to make sure you have the right skill sets at your disposal. Some argue that you should find or develop people with the proper technical skills as well as the business knowledge.
