A crime-busting CEO

We've noted that foreign corruption issues, especially regarding bribes and such to win contracts overseas, is right back at the top of the compliance agenda for regulators. So it's refreshing to read about Alan Boeckmann, the CEO of Fluor, who has made corruption a top corporate priority in the construction industry, which remains rife with corrupt practices.

Fortune notes the company spares very little in its zeal to run a clean company--open door policies, specialized training for at-risk employees, online training for all, tip lines, tough penalties and the like. It's especially pleasing to note the upside: Fluor has earned a terrific reputation and was named the World's Most Admired engineering firm. He hopes others follow suit.
