Compliance risks multiply for employees abroad

The compliance aspects of employees working abroad are getting trickier by the day. From tax to immigration to other risks, there are a host of issues. A survey by KPMG has found that half of respondents do not have a "compliance framework" to deal with risks from short-term assignments; 31 percent do not even know how long employees are away. According to CFO.com, employees have the most at stake. In the worst cases, they face deportation and incarceration. There are some core Sarbox implications as well, regarding the security of data and real possibility of extortion and kidnapping. Better to start thinking about this now.
