Are GRC early adopters now better prepared?

Sarbanes-Oxley was in many ways the big-bang moment for the GRC industry. Regulatory compliance was indeed the first area of concentration (and marketing focus), followed by Risk and then Governance. The list of GRC vendors eventually grew to encompass even the likes of IBM and Oracle in addition to numerous startups.

Some like to say that GRC is in fact the new ERP. Companies that embraced GRC may be thankful they did, depending on what the next wave of regulation brings. One thought is that those companies that invested in GRC now have a platform through which they can better grapple with new regulations. For such companies, as Marc Camm, of CA Inc. tells ENT News, new compliance or regulatory requirements do not have to be onerous.
